Workplace pensions law is changing – is your business ready?

In a bid to increase the level of retirement saving in the UK, the Government is introducing new legislation from October 2012 which will require every employer, regardless of size, to automatically enrol the vast majority of their workforce into a suitable workplace pension scheme and to make contributions on their behalf.
Anderson Strathern will be holding a joint seminar with accountants RSM Tenon on the forthcoming changes to workplace pensions law. The seminar is free of charge and will take place in Glasgow on 1 November at The Blythswood Square Hotel, and in Edinburgh on 16 November at Murrayfield Stadium, both from 8.30am-11am.
Speakers include Employee Benefits Consultant, Alison Pearson from RSM Tenon, who will cover ‘Your duties as an employer’, Adrian Sims from NEST on ‘The National Employment Savings trust’ and Chris McDowall, a partner from Anderson Strathern, on ‘Preparing for NEST and management of the abolition of the default retirement age’.
