Anderson Strathern joins national programme to promote diversity in the workplace

Anderson Strathern has become the first law firm in Scotland to join Stonewall’s Diversity Champions programme which promotes and develops good practice for employers.
The programme, run by the gay equality charity, promotes a good working environment for all existing and potential staff and helps to ensure equal treatment for those who are lesbian, gay or bisexual.
Anderson Strathern joins businesses as diverse as Google UK, the armed forces and Clydesdale Bank on the programme, which has over 600 major employer members.
‘We are delighted to be the first law firm in Scotland to join the Diversity Champions programme’ says Alan Masson, Employment Partner at Anderson Strathern. ‘We’re proud to join the programme and look forward to developing our work around equal opportunities and diversity in the workplace.’
Colin MacFarlane, Stonewall Scotland Director, said:
'By joining the Diversity Champions programme Anderson Strathern has recognised that people perform better when they can be themselves. Our members are forward thinking 21st century employers who want to recruit, recognise, and support the very best staff regardless of background. Good employers understand that providing support for all their staff improves their operational effectiveness.'
