Susan MacLeod
Susan is a partner and head of Family Law in our Dispute Resolution department
She is an accredited specialist in family law and has been a family lawyer for many years, dealing with adoption, ante-nuptial marriage contracts, child support legislation, child abduction within the UK and abroad, civil partnerships, domicile and jurisdiction difficulties, marriages in foreign jurisdictions, mediation, nullity of marriage, divorce, the management of matrimonial breakdown including separation agreements, financial arrangements upon divorce including pension rights, and the procurement of court orders regarding parental rights, contact with and residence of children and special orders relating to their education.
In the course of practice, Susan has acted in a considerable number of cases involving parties of high net-worth (sometimes with interests in private family companies) along with forensic accountants and other experts, and has had wide experience in the dogged pursuit of perplexing international "paper trails" directed towards the discovery of valuable matrimonial assets spirited abroad.
Regularly, clients are referred to her by solicitors throughout the UK who cannot, for professional reasons, act themselves in the matter.
Susan is a part-time Judge with H.M.Courts and Tribunals Service and hears Child Support appeals.She has lectured to her fellow solicitors and paralegals on a wide variety of matters in the field of family law.She is a collaborative lawyer and a former mediator.
