James Blair
James is a partner in our corporate department with a particular expertise in the Real Estate sector.
He is a former group counsel to the Stannifer Group and Chelsfield plc and is a member of the Property Finance Group of the Scottish Property Federation. He has been described in Legal 500 as “second to none in his understanding of commercial matters and their relevance to a bank” and praised in Chambers for his “calm, business focused approach and practical advice”. James is an expert in structuring and financing of Real Estate projects and has been recognised as 'leader in their field' for Banking & Finance (Scotland) by the law directory Chambers UK 2012.
Clients include:
Woking Borough Council for whom he acted in the £68m acquisition of the Wolsey Place Centre, a mixed retail, office and residential Centre.
The Moyallen Group where he acted in their £116m acquisition of the Peacocks Centre.
Pro Invest, a property fund based in Abu Dhabi, headed up by Ron Barrott former CEO of the Stannifer Group and of ALDAR (one of the world's leading property companies).
JP Morgan for whom he acted in their acquisition of the Gallagher Retail Park, Dundee.
