The Association of European Lawyers (AEL) is a close network of legal firms within the AEL covering almost all European jurisdictions with the ability to work as a team, providing a consistent, commercial response on cross-border issues.

Established in 1989, the AEL has grown to become one of the leading European networks of independent law firms. The majority of the firms are ranked inside the top ten in their respective jurisdictions and have come together with the aim of providing specialist advice across the continent.

The AEL works on a non exclusive referral basis, relying on close contact between member firms, thus ensuring all seek to maintain the highest of standards at all times.

On cross-border issues it is often easy to get bogged down in jurisdictional differences, with professionals working together but literally and commercially talking different languages.

The AEL ensures that specialist lawyers in different fields are speaking on the same terms and are united in an understanding of how their fields differ between jurisdictions.
